In the age of 3D which is unfortunately executed mostly in post production, the movies which are actually shot using 3D cameras are more strong in sense of depth and are considered more enjoyable by viewers who value well executed 3D and considering the target audience of the third installment of Step Up franchise, it is very important that it was shot in 3D.

The story is not the most complicated and engaging story of all, that is for sure. It rather follows a typical storyline with some subplots which were all used in these type of movies before. It does not even have decent acting you would expect from a movie, but the movie’s aim is not achieving a certain level of acting anyway. The actors are mostly dancers who are not the best actors rather than good actors who cannot dance properly. The film is directed by Jon Chu and the main male character of this movie is Luke (portrayed by Rick Malambri) who owns a warehouse which he inherited from his parents. He uses the warehouse as a dancing studio and a dance club, but the problems expectedly occur as the characters need a motive to take a big step rather than just going with the flow of life. The mortgage payments become a big burden on Luke and he is about to lose the warehouse. However, a very prestigious dance competition is up and the winner will receive a big amount of money, which is more than enough to cover for the mortgage payments. He decides to join, creating a dance team named The Pirates and recruits Natalie (Sharni Vinson) as the lead female dancer in the team. While he realizes that he is falling for her, he also realizes a disappointing and enraging connection of hers. At the same time, the Step Up 2 star Moose (Adam G. Sevani) is recruited in his new team for the competition and the most sincere and believable romance in the movie is between this character and original Step Up movie character Camille (portrayed by Alyson Stoner) and their scenes are the most visually stunning scenes in the movie apart from the dance scenes. Expectedly, the movie is more about dancing, complex coreography and lighting and the 3D experience does not disappoint anybody anticipating good use of 3D in visual arts. It is fair to say that the dance sequences with multiple layers of dancers work so well with the 3D shooting and the lighting, effects are stunning that these scenes are extremely fun to watch.

3D can be used in a lot things very enjoyably if executed properly, and the use of it in movies such as Step Up make it possible for the audience to enjoy the opportunities the 3D presents. The fans of Step Up franchise and movies like this would definitely enjoy this visually stunning film.

Starring: Rick Malambri, Adam G. Sevani, Sharni Vinson, Alyson Stoner

It accentuates his movements during his closing dance number clinging to his lithe build as if he had actually gained the pounds. This fat suit not only enhances the character but in many ways it becomes the character.

The dance rehearsal was supposed to be on Friday but they changed it for Sunday, which is the day im supposed to go to the movies with my friends. WHAT Should I DO!

Dance Movies best answer:

Answer by AussieGIRL♥
I’m sure you can do both?
Can you change the time of the movies?
If not, maybe go to rehearsal after the movie finishes,
or if thats too late, in the time leading up to it.
Its a win win scenario.

I think the movie is good – I am going to buy it. It has some of the best video choregraphy footage I have ever seen – believe me, I have alot of dance competition videos. If you like West Coast Swing Dancing and are into comedy, it’s a good movie. The choreography is incredible. Also, I just want to say that they portray Jordan Frisbee and Tatiana Mollman as eccentrics … I met them in person before and they are nice down to earth people.
